When and Where can I vote?

Election Day is Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Early voting is open Monday, October 31st – Friday, October 4.

North Dakota has no excuse absentee/mail voting! To request your ballot, visit https://vip.sos.nd.gov/absentee

Ballots must be submitted by November 7th.

Know your rights:

North Dakota has no voter registration.

If you are a ND resident, 18 or older, a U.S. citizen, and a resident of your precinct for 30 days before election you can vote!

What to bring to the polls:

One of these acceptable forms of ID:
  • Valid North Dakota Driver’s License
  • Valid North Dakota Non-driver ID
  • Valid Tribal ID*
  • Long-term care certificate
The ID must contain:
  • The voter’s name
  • Birthdate
  • Current residential address.
If your ID does not include a current address, it can be supplemented with a:
  • Utility bill
  • Bank statement
  • Paycheck
  • Government-issued document
